This is a recording of the completed works of Krystof Harant, the most prominent Czech composer during the reign of Rudolf II. The compelling content is inspired by the travelogue he wrote about his pilgrimage to the Holy Land (1598). Beside Harant's pieces, the album features works from 16th and 17th c. Ottoman, Persian and Post-Byzantine manuscripts harant would have encountered during his adventurous journey.
