Two Prokofiev sonata recordings (Nos. 2 & 7) were recorded by RCA in Paris in 1977 and 1961 and issued on LP. While classifying Biret's immense archive it was noted that she had recorded also Sonatas 9, 8 & 4 for different radio stations. Finally and miraculously, a recording of the Toccata surfaced in the Soviet Union radio archives from the broadcast of Biret's first Moscow recital on her tour of 1960 when she was just nineteen.
