This recording offers a new perspective for listening to the Francks pieces for organ. The approach taken by the three performers was to conform as closely as possible to the time and the circumstances in which the pieces played here were composed. They have limited themselves to assimilating and then to applying as far as possible the source material of that period, which at the same time presupposes turning a deaf ear to everything that has been said and written since Franck's death.
