This recording is the second volume devoted to Bachs Sonatas and Partitas for unaccompanied violin, performed by Hélène Schmitt (the first volume was released at the end of August 2005 ALPHA082). It is one of the rare versions played on a Baroque violin. These are archetypal works for solo violin, combining spirituality and virtuosity.
