Elizabeth Llewellyn (Sopran) - Elgan Llyr Thomas (Tenor) - u.a. - Huddersfield Choral Society // Caractacus is the final work in a series of choral compositions by Elgar dating from the 1890s: The Black Knight (1893), Scenes from the Bavarian Highlands (1896), The Light of Life (1896), King Olaf (1896), The Banner of St George (1897) and Caractacus (1898). All preceded the Enigma Variations of 1899 which were to set the composer at the centre of British musical life.
